15 MOST ANTICIPATED HINDI FILMS OF 2015 IN MAINSTREAM AND INDIE SECTIONS
So here we are, in the heroic new world of 2015. 2014 comes to an end in just a few days and the year was mostly a let down in comparison to the strong 2012 & 2013. Nevertheless, some of the best films from some of the best auteurs of the Indian movie scene helped lend the year some colour – Haider by Vishal Bhardwaj, Queen by Vikas Bahl, Highway by Imtiaz Ali, 2 States by Abhishek Varman, PK by Rajkumar Hirani, to name a few. But one look at the release calendar of next twelve months will reveal why the cinematic landscape for 2015 looks far more exciting. With the cinematic return of filmmakers like Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Basu, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali among many others. 2015 is going to rise and shine with the new hope and excitement.

Premise – Fitoor revolves around 13-year old Noor who’s a Shikara rover living around Dal Lake. Noor is lured into the world of the Begum- a wealthy woman played by Rekha who stays in her dilapidated Kashmiri mansion in the valley. Noor falls in love with her adopted daughter Firdaus – a gorgeous child who is being raised to break hearts.
The Story begins in the winters of Kashmir where a beautiful, ordinary boy finds himself in a world where important people, expensive things and social interaction is common.

He loves planes, he wants to be pilot. Because of his miscommunication he is in a lot of pain. And of course until he meets Farah played by Anushka Sharma…Farah is someone who escaped her home because of her love for dance and someone who followed her dreams and passion and because of that she is epitomizing the person Kabir wants to be. Farah is a free bird, Kabir is in the cage…After meeting with her, Kabir tries to escape the situation he is in.

It covers a gamut of related issues ranging from revenues to religion, the politics of prohibition to communalism and mafiaraaj. In Corsica, RK’s character bumps into Deepika’s character who is a huge fan of the French comic series, Asterix, which is set in Corsica. She has set out on an adventure, following the trail of characters in the series (Asterix & Obelix). Turns out RK is equally fascinated with the same series, the two meet and sparks fly and bond over their love for the comic series and together they explore the island, forming a troupe of sort and staging dramatic plays (Tamashas) and falling passionately in love along the way.

So why are these films on the list? Is it even a question? Well all the films have a strong stacked cast, promising directors and filmmakers, well-known heavy collaborations & their exceptional past works, wide range of exciting genres and great sounding premise which has a potential to make these films big enough to made it in the final tally.
Every New Year, cinema promises a bevy of new releases and 2015 is no different, so even beyond this extensive slate of display, there is still so much that I’m curious and intrigued about, even if my expectations are slightly tempered for one reason or another. So if this list doesn’t feature one of your favs, that doesn’t mean I ignored, forgot or am not excited about that film; rather those films simply missed the cut.
